Gabriel started playing music at a very young age, and has always been a spirit seeking the deeper mystical truths. Combining these two, he has been blending his love of playing music with the spiritual power of sound and vibration. Understanding how the frequency of sound can unlock and create very deep journeys, spontaneous release of emotional wounds and facilitate the opening of our energy centers. Sound is what calls things into being, as all is vibration, and every sound has a direct effect on every cell in our body, and the entire universe.

He works with a unique mix of sound, breathing, mantras, Rieki, chanting, Taoist color healing, and his personal shamanic practices. He has spent many years working with various instruments such as; tibetan singing bowls, native american flute, hand drums, guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, guzheng, and voice. Whether he is toning to animals, intuitively taking someone on a spiritual journey through the bouzouki, or playing drums in a psychedelic funk band, Wakah Chan, the elements of sound healing and shamanic practice are always at work.  Hillary Bispham

Hillary Bispham, Co-Founder and Director of FLOW yoga, is a certified
teacher of Structural Yoga, a tradition that was developed by Mukunda
Stiles and inspired by the lineage of Viniyoga. Structural Yoga is a
system of Classical Yoga that acknowledges differences in body
composition, alignment and levels of flexibility. In Structural Yoga,
emphasis is placed on the need to modify certain poses for certain bodies

In Hillary’s class, conscious breath is linked to movement, and the student
'flows' through sequences of postures designed to open and strengthen all
systems of the body, mind, and spirit, while creating internal heat that
serves to detoxify and invigorate the entire being.

Hillary is inspired by the philosophy that yoga should be accessible and
enjoyable for everyone. Her teaching style reflects her belief in the
transformative healing power of a safe and balanced yoga practice. With
calm and clear instruction, Hillary guides students towards the practice that
is best suited for their needs, while also continually providing (and
encouraging) new challenges so that students may begin to nurture their
highest potential, on and off the mat!

In addition, Hillary is trained in Thai yoga bodywork with the internationally
renowned Lotus Palm school. This deeply therapeutic ancient art is like a
meditative dance in which the recipient is guided through a series of
restorative, passive yoga postures while acupressure technique is applied
to the energy channels (sen lines) of the body. The experience is one of
total, blissful relaxation integrating body, mind, and spirit.

Brooke Gillespie

Genetrix Peace is a crystal bowl ensemble created by Brooke Hamre Gillespie.
Genetrix is comprised of an revolving number of voices, seven quartz crystal bowls, heartbeat, percussion, and prayer.

We come together in a timeless healing language of vibration, the song of light.  We come together in sacred ceremony to pray, to heal, to sing, to create sacred space, and to remember who we truly are.

We come together in a circle and explore the sacred space that is created through our gathering.  From this wide open space, this circle womb, a genetrix language is created through our voices, and through the vibration of the crystal bowls.   In circles goes our sound, moving beyond ourselves, we become from many, one.

We ask the audience to participate with their hearts, spirits, and minds.  Within this participatory arising, a feedback loop of reciprocity occurs, at once organic and yet with enough form to explore the subtleties of energies that arise through the sound prayer.  Each bowl is a guide and transmitter, a drone and intention amplifier, creating a harmonic landscape through which our voices weave a web of light.  We journey through the void and back again, moving in resonance through the breath, the body, and the voice, generating peace, love, awareness, and compassion.

We are giving homage to the Perfection of the Wisdom.
She is sunya.  She is yab-yum.  She is prajna paramita.

We are available for ceremonies and events; please inquire by email through the contact page at http://www.genetrixpeace.com/index.html

When he turned twenty his psychology teacher introduced him to meditation, and he began to diligently practice observation of the breath.  Two years later, he began the physical practice of yoga to perfect lotus posture for meditation. He found the yoga Asana’s (postures) to be a powerful tool to assist in the process of awakening.  He has been informally leading yoga classes since 2004. In 2005 he was certified as a Radiant Child Yoga Teacher and in 2006 he received his 200 hour yoga teacher certification from Kripalu. Alyona Mindlin

Alyona was first introduced to movement at age 5 with ballet.  Her ballet years, of which there were 10 were lead by a strict Russian teacher, Olga Kressin.  The practice focused on creating the perfect line.

After years of dancing and not being able to hone in on a steady balance, her friend Claire Melbourne invited her to a yoga class.  That was seven years ago, and since then, she has been hooked.
While studying yoga, Alyona became fascinated with natural geometry and line in the visual form.  She spent seven years taking images with a prime focus on line.  Her latest series, Dancers Playground (nude ballerina's and modern dancers on construction sites) coupled with a lifelong lust for line and yoga gave birth to Bhakti Metric.  Bhakti defined by the surrender to universal love and will; Metric, the study of lines and geometry.
In surrendering to the universal will and love of lines, an innate understanding of the human body unfolds.  We are a grid of lines (bones, nerves, energetic channels, etc.)  Alyona incorporates her studies in movement and photography, coupled with vinyasa, kundalini, meditation, eft, vibrational sounds and the students in front of her to create an intricate sequence steeped in repetition to unlock the body into the magic that it is.
She is grateful to her teachers at Kula Yoga Project for unlocking her body and introducing her to precise alignment within a creative sequence.

Jessie Montague

Jessie Montague E-RYT, Co-director Satya Yoga Center

“What I love about Yoga is that it’s an entire body, mind, heart and soul experience. It’s the art and science of life, it never gets old, each time you come to your practice it’s a new experience and the journey is never over. It’s incredible that these ancient practices are so vital and alive today.”

What I most love about teaching Yoga is the community that is created connecting with students, students connecting with each other, and all of us connecting more deeply with ourselves. Each class I view as Satsang, a gathering of people in search of Truth. This is very powerful, and gives life an essential and very profound purpose.

It is my strong belief, at this pivotal time in history, that the Earth and all of the beings on the Earth need all of us to be practicing Yoga.”

 Sunday September 6, 10-10:45am

Begin to explore the wonders of Kirtan! Call and response chanting, with Mantras that heal the body and soothe the mind.

We’ll open our bodies to free the natural breath,

And then we’ll dive in to the wonderous sounds of Sanskrit chants that awaken the subtle energy channels in the body. A beautiful way to begin the day!

David Nebiolo

Joint Therapy
With David Nebiolo, DPT
This workshop will present practical, basic methods to assess and self-treat common
postural dysfunction in the hips, pelvis, and low back. Asymmetrical lumbosacral
posture is often acquired, affecting joint and soft-tissue function throughout the foot-
knee-trunk kinematic chain. This can lead to further problems of recurrent pain,
loss of motion, joint and muscle hyper/hypomobilty, intervertebral disc stress, nerve
impingement, etc.
Topics will cover basic review of anatomy, joint mechanics, segmental mobility, gentle
self-mobilization, SNAG technique, counter-strain relaxation, repetitive range-of-motion,
McKenzie theory, self-traction, therapeutic exercises, and more.
Common postural and chronic problems involving the lower cervical spine will also be
covered with therapeutic exercise and hands-on treatment techniques presented. Based
on time and needs we may also cover areas of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, knee,
ankle, and foot.
Participants will be encouraged to work in small groups with exercises and hands-on
modalities to try. Printed notes will be given to promote learning and integration of these
ideas in yogic practice over time. Included will be safety guidelines for self-treatment,
red flags, and indications for consultation with a physician.

Bianca Passiglia

Bianca has been practicing yoga for four years.  She was recommended
to try yoga by her vocal coach, Pat Adkins. He advised her that yoga
would help her breath control and also help keep balance in her life.
It has most certainly brought both of those benefits to her life plus
many, many more. About 6 months after she began her practice,
she wanted to learn more, so she enrolled in a Teacher Training Program with Yoga
Teachers Training Institute of Long Island. There she received her 200
hr certification.  Her intention was not to teach yoga, but to gain more
knowledge and personal growth.  After she graduated,
she took all the knowledge she obtained and applied it to her personal practice.
Six months later she felt it was time to put her knowledge to use by sharing it
with others and spreading the love of yoga.
Her mission is to help the world by bringing more awareness to the Self
through the body and with yoga.

 Amy Jean Matre-Pastore

My love of yoga evolved from my love of fitness. For years I spent hours
at the gym running, cycling, kick boxing, and doing karate. Eventually I began
mixing vinyasa yoga classes into my workout, thinking I was getting a good
stretch. Little did I know that these yoga classes would spark a new interest
in my life. Something about the practice kept bringing me back. It was a
meditation in motion and was so much more than just the physical. Yoga gave
me the most amazing healthy high and I was hooked. In time, my running
shoes were replaced by my mat and my boxing gloves, with blocks and straps. I
cancelled my gym membership and replaced it with a yoga studio membership.
It didn’t take long to realize that I needed to share my love of yoga with others
and I began my first teacher training program.
My training includes:

*200 hr Anusara Teacher Training with Todd Norian and Ann Green.
*Both Basic and Advanced Teacher Training certifications, White Lotus
Foundation in Santa Barbara with Ganga White and Tracy Rich.
*Yoga Synthesis Initial and Advanced Teacher Training with Raji Thron
*Teacher Training Boot camp with Baron Baptiste
*Restorative Teacher Training with Ellen Pfeffer.
*Anusara immersions: 1 with Chaya Spencer
2 &3 with Todd Norian & Ann Green.
*Trance Dance Teacher Training with Shiva Rea.

She has also studied with well known yoga teachers such as Edward Clark,
Anna Forrest, Julie Gudested, David Swenson, John Friend, Elena Brower,
Sianna Sherman, Kenny Graham, Dharma Mittra, Max Strom and Beryl Bender
Birch.
Her vinyasa style as an eclectic flowing fusion of her many influences. " I offer
my students options and encourage them to trust themselves, listen to their own
internal feedback, move from their hearts and surf the waves of their breath!"

The Pranadhanas

The Pranadhanas perform a blend of yoga, acro-yoga and dance to entrancing, original live music.  The yogadance company, from Ithaca, NY, aspires to convey yogic themes in artistically choreographed performances to inspire people and open hearts.  Joe Smellow composes all music for the dances and plays a variety of instruments from guitar, keyboards, and hand drums to didj and native flute.  Sara High Speiser, our angelic soprano, expresses divinity through her voice.  Gerasimous on bass, percussion and drums adds that rhythmic groove.  The overall sound which fuels the dances is at times earthy, at times ethereal, and deeply absorbing.

Alan Santiparro Scheurman

Alan Santiparro Scheurman is a musician, artist, writer, permaculturist, and healer/student of the medicine path.  Santiparro signifies “the lens that sees many things not usually seen” or "magnifying glass".  This was the name given to Scheurman by a Huichol ma’arakame while taking a pilgrimage to the sacred desert lands known as Wirikuta – the place where the very first peyote cactus appeared in the Earth. Like the name indicates, Santiparro’s songs are a delicate weaving of stardust and spirit, ether and earth, bringing to light the invisible through a magnification of the subtle space in between the breath and the beat of the heart. He readily taps into the eternal source to bring out the truth of his experience in a song that teaches while it plays with the listener.  If only one thing has been consistent in his musical career, it has been that place of truth as it has evolved from the expression of his own dark depression to the light of accumulated and integrated spiritual wisdom, clearly resulting from Scheurman’s affinity for and time spent with many elders and wisdom keepers of the Americas. His organization EcoZoic works to assist indigenous communities with permaculture education through fundraising efforts and sales of traditional ceremonial art.  At present, the campaign is focused on the Huichol villages of the Sierra Madre Occidental in order to provide resources to address their water needs due to rapid deforestation over the past few decades.  Scheurman lives in Brooklyn.  He is available for private and public healing sessions and specializes in vibratory channeling, chakra balancing with crystals, altar construction and activation, smudging and cleansing rituals, sound heaing meditations and musical events.

Skanda Yoga

We are a group of teachers who believe that Yoga should be free. We offer many different types of Yoga, and we do it all by donation. We have teachers certified in Hatha, Vinyassa, Kirpalu, Kundalini, and Dharma Mittra Yoga, as well as different forms of martial arts. The name Skanda refers to Shivas son, the God of War, which expresses our unique blend of martial Yoga taught by Skanda and Ananda Woods. This form of Yoga uses all the basic Yoga poses, but adds additional awareness into the martial applications of the poses, which gives more people a good reason to stretch and receive the benefits of Yoga, who might not be interested otherwise. We are particularly good at teaching first time students, and people who are not naturally drawn to the mystical aspect of Yoga, especially young adults.

Structural Yoga teacher and registered National Yoga Alliance teacher,
who continues to study with Charlotte 'Hamsa' Stone.  In addition, she
recently completed a Vinyasa Flow teacher training with Seane Corn at

Seane Corn, Sharon Gannon and David Life.  These teachers embody the
aspects of Seva (selfless service), Bhakti (devotion), and Ahimsa

of yoga.
Her love of selfless service brought her to ‘Kula for Karma’ a non-profit
organization of yoga teachers uniting their efforts to serve the greater

serves on their Advisory Board and is working with their Director to
implement a proposal that would make Seva (selfless service)

Uniting meditation, breathwork, imagery, self-inquiry, personal growth,
warmth and compassion, her adaptive style combines a flowing
sequence of postures in a challenging, yet accessible vinyasa flow class.
